Project Description

Magnolia LNG is an LNG export project strategically located on the Industrial Canal near Lake Charles in Southwest Louisiana. The 115-acre project site is permitted to produced 8.8 million tonnes per annum (mpta) and is supported by local governments, regulators and surrounding communities.

Project Plan

Magnolia LNG plans to be a meaningful and integral part of the U.S. domestic LNG market with the ability to pre-treat, liquefy and store LNG onsite for domestic use and export, providing efficient, clean and affordable energy to communities around the world. We expect to deliver product to:

    • LNG carriers for export overseas
    • LNG carriers and barges for U.S. domestic marine distribution and the possibility of LNG bunkering
    • LNG trucks for road distribution to LNG refuelling stations in Louisiana and the surrounding states

Magnolia LNG is developing the project site on the Industrial Canal near Lake Charles in Southwest Louisiana to feature four LNG production trains of 2.2 mtpa each. The site is crossed by the Kinder Morgan Louisiana Gas Pipeline which has interconnections to Columbia Gulf, Transco, TETCO, Texas Gas, ANR and Pine Prairie pipelines.

We use market-leading technology to power our projects and advance the global energy transition. Our patented OSMR® liquefaction technology allows the facility to generate lower greenhouse gas emissions than other conventional LNG processes. By investing in innovative technology like this, we are helping to create a more sustainable energy future.

We believe in the essential role that natural gas plays in the transition to a lower carbon world and are proud to support this critical infrastructure project that will provide clean, low-cost and reliable energy.
